Honestly I’m just so frustrated with Tumblr in general for so long and especially with the graphics community now. I swear Tumblr manages to suck the fun out of everything, and that’s why I’m deleting the few stuff I’ve attempted to edit before, and I’m even going to delete my photoshop off my computer. I don’t want anything with editing anymore. You spend hours of your time trying to make something nice for people to appreciate and all some people do is judge you. Whitewashing IS wrong to and I’m not denying that, but I’m tired of seeing edits who make idols way darker than they are too, and people praising it to the high heavens, even though that’s not even close to the original. I thought the thing here was to make it true to their real selves, not to just make it darker. The truth is some people are fetishizing dark skinned idols and no one notices that. People are not gonna stop editing and some of them will keep making them look too pale/too dark and untrue to the real idol’s skin tone. Can’t we just move on with our lives? It’s really really petty to start blogs or lists to shame users of any kind and get them hate/death threats. It’s hard on editors because most pictures are already edited beforehand, be it by the idol, by the company/magazine, or by a fansite (when editable fantakens). People normally go for the brighter filters on their selfies because it makes the imperfections of the skin less noticeable. Most of them are not even meaning to make the skin whiter, it’s just how they think the picture will look better in general. I’m not trying to make any excuses for people who blatantly make their idols transparent or seek to make their skin lighter on purpose, but I’m defending some people who got death threats because of their style of editing. If you’re really bothered by it, that’s why we have the unfollow/blacklist/block options. The hypocrisy and pettiness on tumblr are unbearable these days, and sometimes I think of leaving, I’m just too fond of this website and some people here, so I end up staying. The true picture of Tumblr tho is being revealed to me as a community who jumps on the first opportunity to point their fingers to people, calling them problematic, but who in fact don’t even care/understand the context or story behind it, and don’t care about the actual act of oppression, they’re just looking for excuses to hate on someone. They wanna act like a defense squad when it’s over some stupid shit and when they can do it behind their screens, but in practice most of those people don’t care and wouldn’t help people who are in real need of protection or aid. The important things are being left behind, and most of the making justice movement we got going on here is for show.

I'm a speck of dust in the universe, floating amidst a sea of people. Every once in a while, I'd fall into someone's embrace, where I'd no longer want to leave.
